The HST method
The HST (PL-FUT) method is a hair transplantation technique with proven effectiveness. The results of a hair stem cell transplant performed with this method are simply unprecedented and no traditional transplant technique can compare with the final result. It is precisely the patented HST method that sets Hair Science Clinics apart from all other hair clinics.

Estimated cost of the procedureThe price may vary depending on the complexity of the case, as assessed during the consultation.
Price of the procedure
The cost of the HST (PL-FUT) «Hair Stem Cell Transplantation» procedure is approximately €9,500. This one-of-a-kind technique has nothing to do with FUT or FUE methods, which “consume” the donor area.
HST preserves the donor area (repeat sessions are possible).
A personalized quote will be provided after a consultation (online is sufficient) to explain the technical aspects and determine the price of your procedure.
If your main criterion is price, this procedure is not for you.
For multiple treatments, progressive pricing may apply to subsequent procedures, according to the established treatment plan.
Origin of the HST (PL-FUT) method
The HST method is a patented and sophisticated hair transplantation technique, derived from fundamental research conducted since 1996 by a Dutch scientific researcher. This work led to the development of a specific approach, carried out within the Hair Science clinic network.
From a technical perspective, the method is based on the transplantation of partial longitudinal follicular units (PL-FUT), also known as Hair Stem Cell Transplantation (HST). The key principle is that it is not necessary to extract the entire follicular unit: only a portion may be sufficient to allow the regrowth of one or more hairs.
This approach is based on the fact that stem cells are present both in the graft tissue used for transplantation and in the tissue left behind in the donor area. This results in regrowth in the recipient area and a capacity for regeneration in the donor area, depending on the indications and conditions specific to each patient.
The HST method combines the use of natural stem cells with a “stimulating” environment specifically developed to support graft vitality and promote the biological activity of the tissues. To date, this technology is available exclusively within the Hair Science Clinics, such as Hair Science Institute Italia, which holds the operating license for the Dutch patent.
How the HST method works
The Hair Stem Cell Transplantation (HST) method involves removing from the donor area a portion of the follicular unit containing a certain number of stem cells.
During the procedure, portions of follicular units are extracted using a needle. Our innovative hair transplantation technique leaves stem cells in the donor area while also extracting them for grafting into the recipient area. The follicular units are thus capable of growing new hair. Because the hair follicle is divided with a fine needle and then extracted from the scalp, the advantage of this method is that the grafts are much smaller than those in conventional hair transplantation techniques.
This results in a higher hair density with a much more natural appearance and a fine and perfect hairline. Since only a portion of the hair follicle and the stem cells it contains is removed, the remaining stem cells, along with the transplanted ones, stimulate the growth of new hair within a few weeks in both the recipient and donor areas.
The new hair grows with the same quality and structure in both areas. The final result can be seen after a full hair growth cycle, which takes nine months.

The studies are published, among others, on the PUBMED website, which is a reference database in medicine. PubMed contains references to scientific articles. These studies have revealed that different parts of the follicular unit contain stem cells that can stimulate hair growth. HST (PL-FUT) is a hair stem cell transplantation method that precisely utilizes the potential of stem cells. This technique was developed by the Hair Science Institute.
Hair stem cell transplantation can only be performed in one of the certified Hair Stem Cell clinics, by technicians and doctors trained by the Hair Science Academy.
